Banking sector in Nepal and clasification of Bank in Nepal

 

The word bankig refers to all the financial instituation their type and activites in the country. Generally banking includes centerl bank commercial bank, development bank, finance companies, microfinances, cooperative and so on

Central Bank:

Central bank is the supreme of bank of a country. It is the monetary authority . It is the apex of menetary and banking structure of a country. It perfroms as bast as it can in the national economic interest. In every  nation a centeral bank is established in order to arrange for the circulation of currency throughout the country develop the financial sector and to stabilize exchange rate. Nepal Rastra Bank is the central bank of Nepal which was established on 14 Baishak 2013 BS.

 

Commercial banks :

Commercial bank is a financial instituation established in order to earn profit doing ith banking business. It accepts deposit of miney from general public and advances loan for commercial purpose to businessmen, traders, producers, individuals, etc. commercial bank is a pool which collect and mobilizes saving. It fills the gap betwen savers and investor or surplus and deficit amount. commercial bank also create money. thus created money is known as credit money. In Nepal  the oldest commercial bank of Nepal Bank Limited  which was established in 1994 BS, Before  the establishment of Nepal Rastra Bank. Until the end of 2016 AD, there were 28 commercial bank in Neapl.

 


Development Banks

Development bank mostly invest for long term development activites. By the end of 2016 there are 64 development bank in Nepal some so them name are bellow

 

Saving Banks

 Saving banks like postal saving Bank in Nepal  are established to facilitate deposit in remote are of Nepal. This is mostly use in village are or under develop place of Nepal. there are many saving Bank in Nepal now a day.

 

Exchange Bank:

Exchange Banks are established to operate foreign exchange in the country. there are many bank in Nepal. this bank make halp to send money from other country in Nepal. Many people of Nepal work in another country so for them it make easy to send money.

 

Rural Development Bank:

Rural development bank is established in order to uplift the living standerd of poor people who are engaged in agriculture. This bank provides loan to deprived rural women at very low rate of intrest. And in locak language is called kista

 

Digital Banks :

digital bank are those bank which are in smartphone or in any device in the form of apps and which can be use which the help of internet those bank are Gigital bank. This bank make human life easy in this bank you can pay any one in any place in one step. this bank are mostly used in  nepal and it make easy to human life for eg like
