Nepal is very Rich in mineral resources. It has many kind of mineral deposit like iron,copper,limestone,coal,natural gas,magnesite,nickle,marble,mica in different part of the country. few mineral are used to some extent by using available capital and human sourcas, but majority of them are still remainning unutilized and underutilized due to many bottlenecks. the contribution of mineral resources to GDP is estimated bbe less than 1% in (2012)

In the lack of scientific and geological survey of the country reliable statistics on mineral resources are not yet available. Whatever is available are only simple preliminary survey since, Nepal is a mountainous country so there is a great prospect of mineral resources.
